Do Dham Yatra Package by Helicopter

The road distance between Kedarnath and Badrinath runs past 200 km, and covering that much ground can take up a whole day on those narrow, landslide-hit hill roads. This 2N/3D Do Dham chopper trip skips all that hassle. Takeoff's from Sahastradhara Helipad, Dehradun — straight into the Kedar valley, then a quick shuttle flight puts you right in Kedarnath. Once VIP darshan is done, the night is spent unwinding in the lower valley. The next morning's flight goes directly to Badrinath, and by midday on day three, you're already back in Dehradun. For working professionals, that's two Dhams covered in three days without eating into weeks of leave.

For elderly parents, it means no trek, no long vehicle rides, and none of the tiring hours on winding hill roads. A helipad handler stays with the group at every stop, hotels and local taxis are pre-arranged, and priority entry is coordinated at both shrines in advance. Every timing on this trip is built around weather, temple hours, and passenger safety. Check the Dodham heli price and available dates below.

Key Highlights of Dodham Helicopter Tour

One start, one finish: Every flight lifts off from and lands back at the same helipad — Sahastradhara, Dehradun. No chasing a vehicle, or ticket window anywhere in the hills.

Kedarnath shuttle flight included: The quick hop from the lower valley to Kedarnath helipad comes with your package already. No standing in another line for a separate ticket.

Taxis waiting in both valleys: Local vehicles are lined up well ahead of your landing. At Badrinath helipad, a driver is ready to take you straight to the hotel and temple.

Priority entry at both shrines: Our on-ground team sorts VIP darshan at Kedarnath and Badrinath, keeping you clear of the long general line.

Helipad handlers at every stop: Trained staff go with you from helipad to temple gate and back, every time. They've got the schedule, crowd movement, and time-saving shortcuts down.

Hotels picked for a proper night's rest: Rooms in Sersi/Guptkashi and Badrinath are checked for heating, hot water, and how near they are to the helipad or temple.

Pure vegetarian meals: Every meal on this tour is freshly made, vegetarian, with no onion or garlic.

Weight and baggage sorted before take-off: Passenger weight is recorded at booking time and checked once more at the briefing. This stops any last-minute offloading trouble at the helipad.

Do Dham Yatra Package by Helicopter: Places to Visit in 2 Nights/3 Days

Day 01 Dehradun to Kedarnath Dham via Lower Valley Shuttle

What you'll do: Reach Sahastradhara Helipad, Dehradun, in the early hours, then take a 30–40 minute flight into the Kedar valley (Phata/Sersi/Guptkashi).

The details: Boarding pass, weight check, and baggage verification are all done right at the helipad. It's better to reach Dehradun a day early for the briefing and to rest before the early start.

From the lower valley helipad, you switch to a local shuttle helicopter for the short, steep flight to Kedarnath Top Helipad — this shuttle is mandatory and can't be skipped. Depending on weight balance and slot timing, your group might not all fly on the same shuttle.

At the shrine: Helipad crew walks you to the temple entrance on landing. VIP Darshan lets you skip the general queue, though timing depends on the temple committee. You get about two hours for prayers, viewing the ancient stone temple, and photographs.

Note: No overnight stay at Kedarnath — high-altitude night restrictions mean helicopters don't fly after dark. You return to the lower valley the same evening.

Stay: Overnight in the lower valley (Sersi/Guptkashi), with a warm vegetarian dinner. Visit Triyuginarayan Temple nearby if time allows.

Things to Do in Dodham Yatra

Kedarnath Dham

Darshan of the conical shila worshipped as a Jyotirlinga, inside the stone temple.

The Nandi statue stands guard right outside the sanctum — worth a look.

The old stone temple itself has held up through centuries of snow and cold; walk around it and take it in.

After darshan, head back to Sersi/Guptkashi for evening Aarti.

Nearby is Triyuginarayan Temple, where Shiva and Parvati are believed to have married — a fire here is said to have burned non-stop ever since.

Badrinath Dham

Darshan at Badrinath Temple, home to Lord Vishnu.

Right beside the temple is Tapt Kund, a natural hot sulphur spring — dip in or just splash some water on yourself.

Mana Village is close by too, the last village before the Tibet border.

Vyas Gufa, the cave where the Mahabharata is said to have been written, is also worth a stop.

Bhim Pul — a natural rock bridge over the spot where the Saraswati river surfaces and joins the Alaknanda.

Best Time to Visit Dodham Yatra

May to June (pre-monsoon): Temples have just reopened, mornings are clear, and the views are at their sharpest. Days stay pleasant, nights turn cool. This is also the busiest stretch of the season — helicopter seats and hotel rooms fill up weeks ahead, and temple queues stretch long. Book early if this is your window.

July to August (monsoon): Heavy rain, low cloud cover, and landslides make flying unpredictable. Morning rain holds are common, and several operators either pause the tour or run limited departures. This window doesn't suit a tight three-day schedule.

September to October and early November (post-monsoon): Skies clear up and the mountains look their sharpest. Weather stays stable, crowds thin out, and nights get cold. Many regular pilgrims treat this as the best time to fly. The season closes once the temples shut for winter — closing dates are announced by the temple committees each year, so it's worth confirming before booking.

Dodham Helicopter Booking Procedure

Check date availability. Send us your preferred dates and traveller count, and we'll confirm open seats for that departure.

Share passenger details. Provide a copy of each traveller's Aadhaar card (or passport for foreign nationals) along with their accurate body weight, including clothing.
Pay the seat reservation deposit. A booking deposit locks in your seats. Pay only into the official company bank account — never to an individual's name or personal UPI ID.
Receive your flight voucher. Our operations team sends the official voucher with the itinerary, hotel names, and helipad reporting details.
Clear the final payment. The balance is due before the deadline mentioned in your voucher. Boarding won't happen until full payment clears.

Our Dehradun team calls you the evening before departure to confirm your reporting time.

Why is Dodham Heli Yatra Better Than Road Yatra?

Going by road to Kedarnath and Badrinath usually takes around six days, no less. You're looking at 30+ hours of driving through narrow mountain roads where landslides, rockfall, and never-ending jams are just part of the deal. And Kedarnath isn't done there — add another 16 km on foot or pony, both ways, starting from Gaurikund. Honestly, for a lot of families in their sixties or seventies, that's too much to handle.

The helicopter route doesn't eliminate the high altitude — Kedarnath and Badrinath both sit above 10,000 feet, so you still need to walk slowly, stay hydrated, and rest when needed. What it removes is the exhaustion of the road and the trek. You arrive at each shrine with energy still left in the tank, and our crew, along with local medical points, remain within reach the entire time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers to common questions about Do Dham Yatra Package by Helicopter

Kedarnath and Badrinath both fall in the 10,500 to 11,500 feet range, so yes, there's a chance — especially since the trip is short and your body doesn't really get time to adjust. Walk slow, rest whenever you're out of breath, and don't skip water. Dizziness, headache, breathlessness — any of these, tell the crew straightaway.

Yes — this registration is set by the Uttarakhand government and applies to every pilgrim, whichever mode of travel you pick. It's built into your booking process with us, so you won't have to run it separately on your own.

Network coverage is spotty in these high-altitude spots, though a few providers do work reasonably well near both shrines. It's worth letting family back home know you might be hard to reach on the flying days.

Warm clothing is a must, since both Kedarnath and Badrinath remain cold even in peak season — pack a woollen jacket, thermal wear, and sturdy, non-slippery walking shoes. Keep your medicines, a power bank, and prescription papers in your 5 kg cabin bag.

Yes. Kedarnath's opening gets announced each year on Maha Shivratri, Badrinath's on Basant Panchmi — and come October–November, both shut down for winter. Check with us on the exact dates for the season before you lock in your travel window.

VIP darshan is coordinated by our team, but final approval and timing rest with the temple committee and state authorities, who can revise the facility at short notice. We do everything possible to secure smooth access, though it isn't entirely in our hands.

Yes, most operators, including us, allow customisation — you can extend your stay, add Gangotri or Yamunotri, or adjust hotel categories. Just tell us your preferences when you enquire, and we'll put together a plan that fits.

Any pooja, meal, or transfer you skip during the yatra won't be refunded, since these are booked and paid for beforehand. This holds true even if it's your own choice to miss a temple ritual or a meal.

It's not compulsory, but we'd strongly suggest getting it, given the high-altitude terrain and chances of weather delays or medical emergencies. Personal travel insurance covers things like emergency evacuation, which otherwise gets billed separately at actual cost.
