Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrive in Delhi – Welcome to India
Arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, and are greeted by our representative and driven to your hotel. Post-check-in and some rest, you can take a walk around Connaught Place or visit India Gate in the evening for a leisurely orientation with the city. Overnight stay at Delhi.
Day 2 : Delhi Sightseeing – Heritage of the Capital
Breakfast followed by sightseeing of the cultural and historical landmarks of Delhi. Take the Red Fort, a UN World Heritage site, and the towering Qutub Minar. Then visit Humayun's Tomb, the Indian subcontinent's first garden tomb, and the towering Jama Masjid, one of India's largest mosques. Rickshaw tour in Chandni Chowk to find more of the old city. Or attend a performance or just relax in the evening at Lodi Gardens. Overnight stay at Delhi.
Day 3 : Delhi to Agra – The Taj Mahal
Breakfast and drive to Agra and explore the famous Taj Mahal, a Seven Wonder of the World. Unwind and soak in the white marble splendor and romantic legend about it. Drive to Agra Fort, a sturdy red sandstone fort that provides a bird's eye view of the Taj Mahal. Also, go to the less crowded Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb, the "Baby Taj," as well. Shop locally at Sadar Bazaar in the evening. Overnight in Agra.
Day 4 : Agra to Jaipur – On the Way to Fatehpur
Drive today from Agra to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan state. Stop half way to visit Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned Mughal city, to view the Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, and Tomb of Salim Chishti. Drive then to Jaipur and check into your hotel. Evening at leisure or shopping at Johari Bazaar for local jewelry and handicrafts. Overnight at Jaipur.
Day 5 : Jaipur Sightseeing – The Pink City
After breakfast, Jaipur city tour for the whole day. Visit the grand Amber Fort, where you can take an elephant or jeep ride to the entrance. Explore the lovely courtyards, palaces, and gardens of Amber Fort on foot. Visit the City Palace, Jantar Mantar (an astronomical observatory), and the famous Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). Traditional Rajasthani dinner and dance show in the evening. Overnight stay in Jaipur.
Day 6 : Chennai – Gateway to South India
Breakfast, then drive to Jaipur Airport for flight to Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu and gateway to South India. On arrival, rest at your hotel after checking in. Free evening for stroll along the world's longest urban beach, Marina Beach, or visit to ancient Kapaleeshwarar Temple. Overnight in Chennai.
Day 7 : Chennai Sightseeing – The Cultural Heart of South India
Morning after breakfast, dive into the rich cultural heritage of Chennai. Go to the historic Fort St. George, which houses the St. Mary's Church, India's oldest Anglican church. Go to the Government Museum, with a vast collection of South Indian artifacts. Go to San Thome Basilica, built over the tomb of St. Thomas, one of the twelve Apostles of Jesus. Evening: Go to Elliot's Beach for a peaceful end to the day. Overnight at Chennai.
Day 8 : Pondicherry to Chennai – French Colonial Charm
Breakfast and drive to Pondicherry, a scenic beach resort town renowned for French colonial legacy. Check in hotel on arrival and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Afternoon visit to the French Quarter, with its quaint streets lined with colonial bungalows and bougainvillaea in hues of colours. Attain inner peace and calm at Sri Aurobindo Ashram, and have a peaceful evening on the beach. Overnight stay at Pondicherry.
Day 9 : Pondicherry Tour – Peaceful Beaches and Temples
Start your day after breakfast with a visit to about Pondicherry. Take a tour to picturesque Auroville, an international city designed to be peaceful, and Chidambaram Nataraja Temple, a prominent temple which Lord Shiva is devoted to. Afternoons can be spent leisurely at Promenade Beach or lunch at a beachside café nearby. Overnight stay at Pondicherry.
Day 10 : Madurai from Pondicherry – Gateway of Temples
After breakfast, proceed to Madurai, a centuries-old South Indian city and city of wonder temples galore. On arrival, check into a hotel and take it easy for the day. In the night, visit Meenakshi Amman Temple, one of India's most revered temples, famous for its beautiful architecture and colorful sculptures. See the evening ceremony of the temple, which is an awesome ritual. Overnight stay at Madurai.
Day 11 : Kochi to Madurai – Cultural Heritage of Kerala
Morning breakfast, then proceed to Kochi in the state of Kerala, famous for its rich heritage and beautiful backwaters. Arrive at Kochi, and relax in your hotel and unwind for the rest of the day at leisure. Evening stroll at Fort Kochi and visit St. Francis Church and Chinese Fishing Nets, very popular. Get a glimpse of the classical performance of Kathakali dance at one of the local theaters. Overnight at Kochi.
Day 12 : Kochi Sightseeing – A Blend of Culture
After breakfast, explore Kochi’s historic sites. Visit Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace), Jewish Synagogue, and Paradesi Synagogue in the Jew Town. Explore the bustling Marine Drive and shop for local handicrafts such as Kerala sarees and spices. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride through Kochi’s backwaters in the afternoon. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kerala dinner with Keralite fish curry and Appams. Overnight stay in Kochi.
Day 13 : Kochi to Delhi – Back to the Capital
Breakfast and board a flight from Kochi to Delhi. Check into your hotel on arrival and relax for a while. You can go to Hauz Khas Village or stroll at Dilli Haat and shop for the final time. Day 14 : Departure from Delhi
