Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrival in Delhi – Welcome to India
On the 1st day of the Amritsar golden Triangle Tour, you will be welcomed at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi by our representative and get dropped at the hotel. Once you are checked-in at the hotel, you can relax or rather prefer to explore on your own leisurely in Delhi by roaming around Delhi for the remaining part of the day. You can perhaps roam around Connaught Place and shop around or grab some street food at any of the restaurants nearby. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 2 : Delhi Sightseeing – Unveiling India's Capital
Have a healthy breakfast and move out for the sightseeing tour of Delhi, so grandly combining history, modernity, and spirituality. Start your search at Red Fort, the very culmination of Mughal architecture. Stop by Qutub Minar, the ancient minaret and one of the UNESCO World Heritage Monuments. India Gate, war memorial, grandeur of Humayun's Tomb, whose plans were replicated in the building of Taj Mahal. Night visit to Jama Masjid, one of the oldest and largest mosques of India, and rickshaw ride through crowded Chandni Chowk. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 3 : Agra – Delhi
Breakfast and drive to Agra, city of love. Check into a hotel. Visit the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The magnificent white marble mausoleum was constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his cherished wife Mumtaz Mahal. Then view the Agra Fort, a World Heritage Site, with marvelous views of the Taj Mahal from the towers. Also sight the Itmad-ud-Daulah's tomb, or the "Baby Taj." Walk and stroll along Agra's crowded bazaars at dusk. Overnight stay at Agra.
Day 4 : Agra to Jaipur – En Route Fatehpur Sikri
Drive to Jaipur, the state capital of Rajasthan, affectionately called the Pink City, after breakfast. Split your journey in the middle at Fatehpur Sikri, a former Mughal capital city converted to a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit its lovely Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, and Tomb of Salim Chishti. Drive further to Jaipur after your stoppage, arriving in the evening. Check in at your hotel and rest or walk around the busy bazaars. Overnight at Jaipur.
Day 5 : Jaipur Sightseeing – Forts and Palaces
Begin the day at the gigantic Amber Fort, where you will ride an elephant or jeep to the top of the fort. Inside, take in the elegant architecture, peaceful courtyards, and imposing palaces. Then, go to the City Palace, beautiful amalgamation of Rajput and Mughal architecture, and Jantar Mantar, the ancient astronomical observatory. Don't miss mythic Hawa Mahal, Palace of Winds, and glinting facade. Explore vibrant bazaars of Jaipur in evening or enjoy traditional Rajasthani dinner. Overnight Jaipur.
Day 6 : Drive Jaipur to Amritsar – Visit the Golden Temple
Breakfast and early morning flight or drive to holy Amritsar, the capital of Punjab. On arrival, look for relaxation in your hotel all day. Evening: Golden Temple, Amritsar, the holiest of the Sikhs' sanctums. Visit the stunningly beautiful temple and peaceful surroundings enveloping it. Witness the Langar (kitchen for all), where freely food is served by thousands of people to others each day, whoever they may be. Relax by spending time in this spiritual center. Overnight at Amritsar. Experiment with many more culinary delights.
Day 7 : Amritsar – Golden Temple and Street Food
Begin the day by visiting the Golden Temple early morning to witness the Amrit Vela (morning prayers). The serene atmosphere of the temple at this time is an experience of a lifetime. Then visit the Jallianwala Bagh, a memorial to a 1919 massacre and yet a poignant witness to India's freedom struggle. You can also visit Durgiana Temple, another important religious monument, and the Partition Museum, which gives a detailed account of the Indian Partition of 1947. In the evening, watch the Wagah Border Ceremony, an early morning military parade that takes place daily at the India-Pakistan border, which is a thrilling show of nationalism and passion. Day 8 : Amritsar to Delhi – Return to the Capital
Return to Delhi for breakfast and thereafter back home by air or road. Upon arrival, relax at your hotel. Free evening, or otherwise visit one of the places which you were unable to view due to time constraint or do some shopping in the city's well-known bazaars like Dilli Haat or Hauz Khas Village. Or otherwise, have traditional dinner at a favorite restaurant in Delhi. Overnight stay at Delhi.
Day 9 : Delhi – Relax Day
This is a relax day, and you do whatever you please in Delhi and relax. You can visit the serene Lodhi Gardens, shop at Delhi's markets in Karol Bagh, or shop 'til you drop at Select Citywalk. If you would like more culture, you can visit the National Museum, Lotus Temple, or visit Qutub Minar again. You can also relax with a spa session or just relax and enjoy a cultural show in the evening. Overnight in Delhi.
Day 10 : Delhi Departure
Following breakfast, according to your flight schedule, you will be taken to Delhi International Airport in readiness to catch your onward flight. As you bid India adieu, take back with you India's colonial legacy, the peace and tranquility of the Golden Temple, as well as cosmopolitan cities which you have had the pleasure to behold.
