Day 1 : Arrival in Delhi and Sightseeing

It begins in Delhi, where you are picked up from the hotel or airport by your private driver. The city itself is a fascinating blend of new and old, with imposing structures, bustling bazaars, and cosmopolitan cultural melting pot.

A visit to India Gate, war memorial, gets the day started in a cheerful manner, and Humayun's Tomb, the glorious Mughal architectural gem. The serene sojourn of Lotus Temple, petal-shaped structure, comes next. Another attraction that one cannot afford to miss is Qutub Minar, world's tallest minaret built with bricks, UNESCO World Heritage Site, medieval heritage of Delhi.

The congested streets of Chandni Chowk of Old Delhi are a kaleidoscope of their street food stalls, domestic bazaars, and gargantuan Jama Masjid, India's second-largest mosque. The overnight stay at your hotel after sunset sets in, getting ready for what lies ahead.

Day 2 : Delhi to Agra – The City of Love

Drive to Agra via Yamuna Expressway after breakfast, a 3-4 hour drive. Agra is home to some of the most symbolically important Mughal monuments, and no visit would ever be complete without a glimpse of the Taj Mahal.

The Taj Mahal, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his deceased wife Mumtaz Mahal, is a white marble jewel of exquisite carving and exquisite symmetry. Witnessing sunrise on its face is an adventure one will never tire of.

Afternoon is dedicated to visiting the Agra Fort, a red sandstone fort of stunning beauty, which was the erstwhile Mughal throne. Walking through the royal courtyards, palace, and halls of the fort presents a glimpse into the Mughal history and architecture at close proximity.

The evening is spent looking at the Mehtab Bagh, a beautiful garden opposite the Yamuna River, and renowned for its stunning sunsets behind the Taj Mahal.

Overnight in Agra.

Day 3 : Agra Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Jaipur with a break at Fatehpur Sikri en route. This abandoned Mughal capital is a great example of great architecture and history. This once well-planned city of Akbar is a good example of the above.

See Fatehpur Sikri and look in wonder at the Buland Darwaza, the world's highest gateway, and walk through Jama Masjid, Panch Mahal, and Tomb of Salim Chishti. These buildings reveal much about Akbar's imagination and building expertise.

After the excursion to Jaipur, the Pink City, where you are welcomed with royal palaces, colorful bazaars, and rich heritage, begin the day by visiting the famous Hawa Mahal, a five-storey palace with exquisitely carved jharokhas (windows), where palace ladies used to observe street festivities. Finish the day at the City Palace, the official palace of Jaipur royalty, with museums that contain a treasure of antiquities.

Day 4 : Jaipur City Tour – The Royal Heritage

Begin the day with a visit to Amber Fort, the hill fort displaying the Rajput excesses. Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), Ganesh Pol, and humongous courtyards of the fort are representative of finer workmanship.

On the way back, stop by Jal Mahal, a palace on Man Sagar Lake, as an extremely photogenic backdrop for your pictures. Stop by Jaipur's busy bazaars in the afternoon to buy handicrafts, jewelry, cloth, and souvenirs.

For history enthusiasts and astronomy enthusiasts, a tour of Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory, is an experience that will thrill one to the core. The night can be spent enjoying a traditional Rajasthani lunch with folk dance and music show.

Day 5 : Jaipur to Pushkar – A Sacred Retreat

Drive in the morning after breakfast to Pushkar, 3 hours from Jaipur. Pushkar is India's most sacred town and peaceful haven from city life.

Pushkar Lake is the center of Pushkar and is believed to have been created by Lord Brahma himself. The lake features 52 ghats (bathing steps) along its rim, where pilgrims bathe and pray.

A trip to the Brahma Temple, the sole temple in the world that bestows the blessings of Lord Brahma, provides a glimpse into Hindu religious mythology. A walk through the narrow bazaars of the town, crowded shopping centers filled with Rajasthani ethnic wear, accessories, and souvenirs displayed.

To experience the tranquility, overnight stay at Savitri Temple, which is atop a hill, and watch glorious sunsets over Pushkar. The peaceful surroundings of this temple are the best place to relax and introspect.

Overnight in Pushkar.

Post-breakfast, leave for the drive to Delhi, which should take around 6-7 hours. Witness the change of landscape en route, from desert to green fields, reflecting the diverse topography of Rajasthan.

On arrival at Delhi, relax in the hotel at leisure or take an optional evening excursion to Connaught Place, one of the popular shopping, dining, and entertainment areas.
