12-day Char Dham Yatra from Delhi, in which you visit the four holy shrines of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath set among the stunning Himalayas of Uttarakhand. This major pilgrimage involves long picturesque drives, high-altitude walks and experiences of profound devotion and dedication. Day 1 : Delhi to Haridwar

Start your pilgrimage in the morning from Delhi and drive about 220 km to Haridwar, a journey of about 6-7 hours on highways and rolling countryside. On arrival, check-in to your prebooked hotel and spend some time relaxing. Later, visit the famous Har Ki Pauri ghat in the evening and experience the mesmerising Ganga Aarti, in which priests conduct synchronized rituals with the chanting of hymns and the ringing of bells, while thousands of diyas float on the river, this is one of the best experiences of this Yatra. The spiritual environment makes an enduring impression on you. Munch on some local street food and walk through the crowded ghats and experience the real India. Overnight at Haridwar.

Day 2 : Haridwar to Barkot

Take an early breakfast and go on a 210 km drive to Barkot, a tiny hill station that is the base for trekking to Yamunotri. This drive, which would take about 7-8 hours, enjoy the winds through the rolling hills of Uttarakhand and features a scenic break at Mussoorie and the roaring Kempty Falls for photographs. The higher you go into Garhwal Himalayas, the cooler and more relaxing the air becomes and the more spectacular the scenery is. The tranquil atmosphere of Barkot makes it an ideal place to acclimatize to the trek at hand. Overnight at Barkot.

Day 3 : Barkot to Yamunotri and return

Start early sightseeing today by driving around 36 km to Janki Chatti, the beginning of the 6 km trek to Yamunotri. Pilgrims can walk or take a pony or doli ride on their own. The trekking route provides breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, waterfalls, and trees. At Yamunotri you can take a holy dip in the Surya Kund hot spring and pray at ancient Yamunotri Temple, this temple dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. After darshan and rituals, return via the same trail to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot, enjoying the spiritual aura. Overnight stay at Barkot.

Day 4 : Barkot to Uttarkashi

After breakfast, take a scenic drive of about 100 km to Uttarkashi, which is a spiritually important town along the banks of the Bhagirathi River. This 4-hour journey winds through terraced fields, forested hills and river valleys, offering picturesque views of Himalyas.
Upon arrival, check into your prebooked hotel, freshen up and rest for a while. By the evening, visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and considered one of the most important shrines in India. The town also has several ashrams and meditation centers. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings before settling in. Overnight stay in Uttarkashi.

Day 5 : Uttarkashi to Gangotri and back

Leave early morning with a tasty breakfast pack for a 100 km drive to Gangotri, located in the mid of snow-clad mountains and pine trees. Drive takes you through the picturesque Harsil Valley, famous for its apple orchards and mountain streams. On arrival at Gangotri, take a sacred bath in the cold waters of Bhagirathi River, which is believed to be the source of the Ganges, and pray at the holy Gangotri Temple.
Following darshan and some peaceful time beside the river, return to Uttarkashi by car, witnessing the majesty of the Himalayas. Overnight stay in Uttarkashi.

Day 6 : Uttarkashi to Guptkashi

Start your day early with delicious breakfast and drive for a long 220 km to Guptkashi, which takes about 8-9 hours on meandering roads and deep river gorges. The road passes along the picturesque Mandakini River and through villages and river confluences. Enjoy the view of high mountain ranges, tilted fields and vibrant local bazaars en route to Guptkashi. On arrival at Guptkashi, check into your hotel and relax. If time and energy allow you visit the Ardh Narishwar Temple, a special temple symbolizing the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

Day 7 : Guptkashi to Kedarnath

Drive 30 km after breakfast to Sonprayag, from where you start the 19-22 km trek to Kedarnath. You have the option of walking, hiring a pony or doli, or going by helicopter (at your expense). The hike is tiring but spiritually enriching, surrounded as it is by snow-covered peaks, waterfalls and alpine flowers, so you can also enjoy tracking. On arrival at Kedarnath, check into your lodge and freshen up. In the evening, you can witness the grand Aarti at the Kedarnath Temple, which is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of India dedicated to Lord Shiva and visit the nearby Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi. This peaceful environment is humbling and divine. Stay overnight in Kedarnath.

Day 8 : Kedarnath to Guptkashi

Wake up early to witness the morning pooja and darshan at the Kedarnath Temple before starting your downward trek back to Sonprayag. The return trip, although downhill, still demands effort and time. Upon arrival in Sonprayag, rejoin your group and drive back to Guptkashi. Rest and recover from the physically demanding but spiritually enriching experience. The day is spent reflecting on the path so far. If time, take a peaceful stroll around the town or mingle with fellow travelers who have similar experiences. Enjoy a night stay at Guptkashi.

Day 9 : Guptkashi to Badrinath

After Indian breakfast, drive approx. 160 km to Badrinath, passing through green valleys and holy confluences like Nandprayag and Vishnuprayag. The drive take 7-8 hours, but the scenery and holy places en route provide great inspiration. Upon reaching Badrinath, check into a already booked hotel and rejuvenate with a dip in the Tapt Kund hot water spring before visiting the sacred Badrinath Temple for evening darshan and Aarti. The temple, which is in honor of Lord Vishnu, is among the most revered shrines in India. Spend some peaceful time in meditation or strolling around the temple premises in Badrinath. Overnight stay in Badrinath.

Day 10 : Rudraprayag to Badrinath

Start your day early with morning darshan at Badrinath Temple, after which visit nearby spots like Mana Village, the last village in India near the Tibetan border and Vyas Gufa, where sage Vyasa is said to have composed the Mahabharata. Don't miss the Bhim Pul, a natural rock bridge of mythical importance. After visiting, start your drive to Rudraprayag, a 160 km rugged yet scenic ride along confluences such as Karnaprayag and Nandprayag. Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.

Day 11 : Rudraprayag to Rishikesh/Haridwar

After breakfast, drive 140 km to Rishikesh, this city famous for its spiritual atmosphere and yoga culture. On arrival, go to famous landmarks like Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula, suspension iron bridges on the Ganges River with breathtaking views of the river and ghats in Rishikesh. You can shop for spiritual merchandise or have Ayurvedic cuisine at nearby cafes.
In the evening, if time allows, go for the serene Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat. The harmonious chanting and drifting diyas make for a divine farewell. Overnight stay at Rishikesh or Haridwar.

Day 12 : Rishikesh to Delhi and Departure

On the 12th day end your Char Dham Yatra with a drive of about 245 km back to Delhi following a healthy breakfast. You will be dropped at your chosen location in Delhi be it the airport, railway station, or a hotel with memories and blessings that will last you a lifetime.
