Day 1 : Explore Delhi

Start with a visit to the capital of India, Delhi, which is also quite an intriguing blend of the old and the new. Being a first-time visitor, you are to visit the quiet follower of Mahatma Gandhi, Raj Ghat and have a rest at the beautiful Red Fort which is the UNESCO world heritage site, where the rulers of the Mughal resided. Then go to Jama Masjid, which happens to be one of the largest mosques in India and also ride a rickshaw in the crowded streets of Chandni Chowk where you are able to enjoy the snacks in the streets like parathas, jalebi and chaat.

During the afternoon, drive through the broad avenues of New Delhi. Some of the gorgeous photo stops here include visiting India gate, which is the war memorial and driving past Rashtrapati Bhavan (President House) and parliament house. Proceed to the tomb of the Humayun which was an architectural masterpiece that inspired the construction of the Taj Mahal and lastly, visit the Qutub Minar which is the tallest brick minaret in the world. Visit Connaught Place or Dilli Haat in the evening, both of which are reliable places to spend money on shopping and dinner and then go back to your hotel to spend a night.

Day 2 : Arrive in Agra

Have a sightseeing drive in Agra (approximately 3-4 hours over Yamuna Expressway) after eating breakfast. You arrive and check into your hotel and take a shower. Start a tour of Agra by visiting the stunning Taj Mahal which is among the Seven Wonders of the World and the ultimate love story. Take a tour of its bright white marble, its detailed carvings and symmetrical gardens as you read about its interesting history.

Then, visit Agra Fort which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site and the place where Mughal emperors used to reside. Be amazed by its palaces, courtyards and Musamman Burj, where Shah Jahan is said to have been able to see the Taj Mahal during his last days.

Time permitting, go to the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah commonly known as the Baby Taj due to its fine lattice work and resemblance to the Taj Mahal. During the evening, have a serene Taj sunset at Mehtab Bagh, Mughal garden on the other side of Yamuna River. Overnight stay in Agra.

Day 4 : Explore Jaipur and departure

Start your day tour by visiting the Amber Fort, which is a huge fort, or fortress located on a hill above the lake of Maota. Ride a jeep (or have a more traditional ride by riding an elephant) to the fort and see the courtyards, Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), Ganesh Pol and Diwan-i-Aam.

Returning, visit Jal Mahal, the Water Palace which appears to have been sleeping in the middle of Man Sagar Lake and experience its calmness. You must not leave without having a snapshot of the old Hawa Mahal.
